Procedure:

SMS:

From the CLI;

To shutdown and power off the system run the command shutdown. The --force option will reboot the system without prompting for confirmation.

Usage

shutdown (the SMS will request shutdown confirmation)
shutdown --force (the SMS will NOT request shutdown confirmation)

From the Client interface;

  1. Log in to the SMS via the client interface
  2. Go to the Admin tab
  3. Click the Shutdown button
  4. Click the Yes button when asked, "Are you sure you want to shutdown the SMS server?"

From the CLI;

Note: If the device is under SMS control, you must unmanage it from SMS before issuing the shutdown command.

TPS Commands

  • Unmanage: sms unmanage
  • Manage: sms manage

Shutdown CLI Commands

  • halt (the device will request shutdown confirmation)
  • halt now (the device will NOT request shutdown confirmation)
  • halt <seconds>(enter the time for shutdown 1-3600 seconds)


From the SMS GUI

  1. All Devices > [device name] > Device Configuration
  2. Click on Edit
  3. On the Management Information tab, click on Shutdown


From the SMS GUI (Alternate)

  1. Right-click the desired device
  2. Select Edit > Device Configuration
  3. On the Management Information tab, click on Shutdown

Note: The Local Security Manager (LSM) does not provide a shutdown function via the web interface. Shutdown can only be performed via the CLI.
